DiscourseNet - International Association for Discourse Studies (https://www.discourseanalysis.net/DN) offers a regular  seminar in Discourse Studies together with the School of Languages and Applied Linguistics, Open University. Our programme 2021/222  will start on

Friday, October 29, 2021, 1-2pm London time: "Discourse Studies in the UK today"

Johannes Angermuller (The Open University), Michael Kranert (University of Southampton), Stefanie Schneider (The Open University), Jaspal Naveel Singh (The Open University) will account for Discourse Studies in the UK. We will discuss some history, give an overview of strands, discuss questions and problems and reflect on future developments.

On November 26, Rodney Jones will follow with a talk on citizens' encounters with the police.

The talks are free of charge but you need to sign up here and join the group to attend our talks: https://discourseanalysis.net/DN/seminars/OpenDNLondon. We also encourage you to become a member of the DiscourseNet association: https://www.discourseanalysis.net/DN.

We normally have one talk once a month, which will be announced to group members. The events will be held online and we may also consider meeting in OU's Euston facilities once it is possible.  The latest information and the links will be sent to group members.

We are looking forward to stimulating discussions!
